LIVE from the Camino Challenging but worth it (Camino Sanabres Granja de Moreruela - Santiago, 8 - 20 April)

Cynistra(I like your name), thank you so much for your report. I will be walking Sanabres in mid-July after walking SSPP to Leon from where I think I can take a bus to Salamanca or Samora. Hope The mid-July camino isn't so different from your report.

    Transport to SJPP

Good News! Since I start from Borda that day, I'll be able to get a bed and dinner all right, if I start early enough. Thanks

    Transport to SJPP

Thank you very much for your advice. I will try to get the municipal albergue. The thing is that the tourist office will be closed on the day I arrive (Sunday). I'll wait and see how the situation turns out. I did book the Aubergue Borda on 17th and may book the Albergue Roncesvalles. Ten years...

    Transport to SJPP

Thank you very much for the mention of San Fermin. I totally forgot about it, though I went to see it when I was a young backpacker(ages ago!) and had to sleep in a park with a lot of other people who couldn't get the accommodation. So I decided to leave home on June 14 and go straight to...

    Transport to SJPP

Hello! I plan to start Frances in mid June and switch to Sanabres in early July (thanks to the many useful information provided by the members). I found in Rome2Rio a bus from Madrid (Avenida America terminal) to SJPP, but no details such as time, hours, price, company and the means to book...

    Frances to Sanabres

Thank you so much for all the information you gave about the buses. I feel quite at ease to know there are so many ways to go. I guess I'll just start Frances, see how I can proceed (surely slower than 10 years ago), weather (hope not raining hard as last summer) and how congested, and decide...

    Frances to Sanabres

Thank you two for your quick reply. (Actually, quicker than it took for me to post the question!) I didn't know there are such a lot of options. Now it'll be much fun to consider my route. Is 3 weeks enough to walk Sanabres? I'm a slow walker and can't keep walking more than 25km per day (better...

    Frances to Sanabres

Thinking of starting in early June, I'd like to cross the Pyrenees this time from SJPP to Roncesvalles where I started my first Camino 10 years ago. Then I want to switch to Sanabres after walking Frances for a few weeks to follow my precious memories of the first Camino. Is there any...

Some experiences on Camino Portugues Costa

Hi, everyone! I came back from my 5th Camino a week ago, and I’d like to share some of my experiences in Camino Portugues-Costa and Variante Espiritual. It’s going to be long. I should have posted them little by little along the way, but because of the iPhone display too small for my worsening...

    Accommodation between Nazare and Fatima

So this is what happened in Nazare. I asked and asked to the tourists officers, local accommodation owners, sanctuary staff, etc.But nobody knows anything about any place to sleep. Only when I gave up and took a bus to Fatima, their tourist officer mentioned the one in Porto do Mos, the one...

    Accommodation in Nazare

I posted to ask about the accommodations between Nazare and Fatima last month, and thanks to a few members who gave me some idea, I'm all set to leave home tomorrow. Then I remembered I don't have any information about the ones in Nazare itself. Being a tourist town, it has many hotels, I...

It will be warm. Stay safe pilgrims!

Thank you, Burton! Your post is really encouraging. I'm leaving tomorrow for Lisbon and think I can manage somehow.

Large increase in numbers walking the Coastal route

Thanks for the information. I'll start Coastal in mid-September. Hope the situation is better by then. I'll try to book the accommodation in advance (but how early should I book?) as much as possible. though it will reduce the joy of walking Camino greatly.

LIVE from the Camino My last Camino tomorrow Finistere/Muxia.

I said the exactly the same thing last year on my Fisterra trail, "my last camino", but now I'm leaving for another camino (Portugues Costal) in a few days as my "real last camino". Buen Camino and see what you feel at the end.
