I joined the forum a month or so ago. I'm going to be leaving from Vancouver on May 14. I'm getting quite apprehensive and excited. I've never heard anyone who has walked the Camino say that it wasn't a wonderful experience and I know I'll be fine once I get on the road. It's the getting to SJPP...
Does anyone have a new e-mail address for the refugio at Orisson? The one on the website doesn't seem to work. Also, since I don't speak or understand French, how can I make a reservation?

I've been thinking about doing the Valcarlos route because one can stop there for the night and I don't think it's as steep. I live in an area which is very hilly and I walk a lot but I'm still worried.

I'm starting the Camino from SJPP on May 16. I'm really worried about the first day. I understand that it's 30 km, all uphill. I've been doing a lot of walks and fairly steep trails but I don't know if I can go 30 km uphill. Just how bad is it?
