Sounds sensible to have two options thanks for the advice Anthony. And it's the Brierley that I have which is lighter than many other guides luckily so will do as you suggest and ditch something else rather than my guide.
Hi I'm walking my first Camino starting in SJPdP on the 25th May. I was thinking of downloading an app onto my phone rather than taking my guide with me to save on weight. I like the Gronze website but can only see the Gronze maps app so not sure if there is an app which includes all the info...
In this part of the world we say Kia Ora. But yes thanks for your message which reflects a lot of what others have said. I am definitely planning to take my time so I can start my Camino in a fresh state.
I did get two emails Katarina - but in very quck succession. A confirmation of the booking email then a second one which which had an invoice attached as an attachment, but also had a link to making an internet payment via paypal. I didn't notice this link until I received your message then went...
Thank you so much for your long reply Katarina. I still can't find the information regarding payment on their website but have however found the link in my confirmation email from them :-) which takes me straight to the check-out page. I know I shouldn't worry - just have a lot on the go at the...
Thanks for the advice - yes I do feel a bit hesitant about paying any money over when it hasn't been made clear where the money is to be paid and how much?
Hi everyone
I am a very new to the Camino - so thought it a good idea to book a few nights ahead. I used the Refuge Orisson reservation option on their website and had my reservation confirmed with an invoice. However there is no indication of what deposit is required to secure the booking or...
I've just booked Brisbane to Paris with Singapore airlines which will take 24hrs with a short transit time in Singapore. Not only did this option seem to have the shortest duration it was also the cheapest. One night in Paris and then the second night in SJPDP then I'll be on my way on the...
We were going to be leaving on the same day then Sally and Gary - but I moved my trip forward yesterday by 4 days as the long weekend in France meant I wasn't able to use the TVG fast train down to Bayonne on the Saturday, and I dearly wanted to do that rather than fly down. But who knows they...
Thanks so much for your words of encouragement Jimmy. And it's reassuring to know that nerves are part of the deal (even on the 3rd Camino) - I often find the greater the challenge, the more nervous one feels, but then at the other end there is a greater sense of personal achievement. And of...
Kia Ora
Like so many others, my earlier plans to walk the Camino were thwarted by Covid - but 2022 has arrived and everything is on track for me to take the first of many steps from SJPDP to Santiago on May the 25th. I'm nervous but at the same time very excited about what lies ahead and looking...
I may have to give it to someone a bit more tech savvy to achieve that - I did have a look in settings and found the app - but couldn't see any reference to language only location etc.
