Is it possible to walk from Barcelona to Santiago?

I would add that Rome2Rio is good for general information and then to go to the specific bus, train, etc companies for better more accurate info.

    Hospitaleros & The Pilgrim

Hi Pam—Main difference is that there are less people and maybe a little different vibe but the hospitalero experience is pretty much the same. Every day the energy is a little different based on the group. Contact Rebekah Scott to let her know you’re interested.

    Hospitaleros & The Pilgrim

Hola from Najera - your current hospitalero! I have served as a hospi in all the seasons at Najera, Grado and Canfranc plus a private albergue near Muxia and that's something you might want to consider--serving in winter, if you are open to being by yourself. The winter is definitely quieter...

El Camino Frances in January 2024

Hmmm...I think it is better to call. Parroquial Santiago El Real doesn't show a number (they don't require a reservation) and the Municipal takes reservations at 941248686 so you could try that number to ask about credentials BUT I would imagine that they both have credentials for a nominal fee...

El Camino Frances in January 2024

The weather thus far has been mild but that can always change. Come stay at the Albergue Municipal in Najera--I am currently the hospitalero here. There have been several winter peregrinos who have begun in Logrono. Please check out aprinca.com--their winter albergue listings that are open is...

What a joy it was to experience your hospitality Arturo and Piera! I am sad to hear this news but all the best to you both as you move on. If I should hear of anyone interested in purchasing the albergue, I will have them contact you. Buen Camino!

Train strike in Germany 27 March 2023

This has impacted my travels from India to the US! I was due to depart Delhi on Lufthansa on the 28th of March and my flight was cancelled. I was able to rebook to the 29th, unless the strike lasts longer than a day

I’d like to hear from some Hospitaleros

Hi Carol - I have volunteered through FICS at all 3 locations--Grado, Najera and Canfranc and plan on being a hospi again in 2023. What I love about the experience is that it really adds another layer to your Camino experience. It's wonderful to be able to give back by assisting peregrinos and...

    Camino playlist post

This is a playlist that my co-hospi compiled when we were volunteering in Najera in Oct 2021. It's music from the peregrinos who stayed with us the first half of Oct.

New bus ticket counter by the pilgrims office

Was recently in Spain and I found making reservations online the easiest way to go, especially for ALSA.
