…and my shoes are sold out (Altra help/recommendations!)

My husband was walking with Lone Peaks, but he is now liking the Altra Provision shoes. He said they are a little more cushioned, very light and the tread is lasting longer. I am a Loan Peak devotee (which I wore on my Camino), so I can’t personally speak to the Provisions, but he likes them.

A word of warning on trail runners or light weight shoes.

My Altra Lone Peaks took me the entire distance and still had tread when I finished. I did have my orthotics in them. I didn’t feel that I had any serious problems with feeling stones and rocks as I walked.

For Sale/Wanted Top Albergue of the French Way for Sale in Hospital de Orbigo

What a beautiful place you have. I am sorry now that we didn't stay in Hospital de Orbigo last year. I would have loved to paint there. Best of luck in your future endeavors.

Altra trail shoes versus hiking shoes

My Altra Lone Peaks had tread to spare (even with some training up front).

Photo book or blog documenting your camino

I used Shutterfly for mine. I did a daily blog with pictures while I was walking … and then basically copied the verbiage from the blog and downloaded my “hundreds and hundreds” of pictures to add to the pages. It turned out beautifully!

Parador resumes the “free meal” tradition

My walking partners and I were in the lucky 10 to get a free lunch at the Parador last month. We had heard about it from another person who had done it the day before. I don’t think many of the first 10 knew they were getting this and in fact only 8 showed up. It was a very nice little reward...

    Life Change Time

She requested it at the Pilgrim’s office in St. Jean and they said this was something they did and provided it to her. But I’m not sure if she had to show a death certificate or not. My best to you and your wife during this difficult time. I’m fortunate to be a breast cancer survivor for 22 years.

    Life Change Time

I recently finished the Camino Frances. We met a woman whose husband had passed away and she carried a credencial for him, and had it stamped along with hers. In her own way, he was with her.

OBSOLETE COVID THREAD Spain health website

If we are taking the train from Paris to start in St. Jean Pied de Port, do we also need to fill out the form? Or is it only if you’re flying into Spain?
