I really, really recommend walking poles. Although the paths are good and it's perfectly possible to do it without, I swear by them because:
- going uphill is much, much easier
- going downhill is much, much easier - especially if raining, especially if rocky (eg down from Alto del Perdon)

I've got a pilgrim credential from my camino adventure 6 months ago, and I'm walking again this week. Will hostels accept my old credential and continue to add stamps to it, or do I have to get a new one?

I'm flying into Bilbao this week, and out from Oviedo next week (because those are the best flight options)... what recommendations to you folk have for 6 days walking between those two points? Are the albergues still open this time of year? I'm not so fit... is there a less challenging section...
