Definitely boots. I feel more save with half high boots because I have weak ankels. Even on the Camino Portugues Senda Litoral which is morely flat. But it would be interesting to split it out in ages. I'm 68, live in a flat country.
I walked overthere early May 2016 and had problems too! Started in Burgos and was sick a few days later. I thought I should take it more easy or didn’t drink enough but it must have been the water it self! Eyeopener after 3 years.
Hi Barbara,
I'would like to know or you were satisfied by this scheme and if it was easy to find your way. Is the coastal route well marked? I suppose it was easy to find sleeping places in January?
I'm planning for next year (may) and walked Camino Frances before. Far to busy by now.
Maybe it helps if 'a little spade and plastic bags' are on the exemple backpack lists. By than people think about it before leaving home.
I walked in September from SJPdP to Burgos and when I needed to stop and looked for a nice spot I saw that I wasn't the first one. Blgh!! It felt so good to...
Thank you Minaleigh, for taking the effort. The pictures helped me out. Especially in the beginning and in the little village Casteñares were the river route and the standaard route are crossing. I had a wonderful walk into the town of Burgos.
Kind regards, Louise
Hi Liddybee! Big change we will meet! I will start walking 6 september from St JpdP to Burgos in 3 weeks and that is plenty of time for that distance. I'm a slow walker too. Last year I walked from Burgos into SdC in 5 weeks and I liked it so much that I cannot resist to go again. I felt so free...
Thank you for the idea of bringing a powerbank in stead of my solar charger. I did not feel unsafe to leave my Iphone at the power socket but it was an old type. Next time I will bring a new type and maybe that's more interesting. Besides of this I will accentuate that I never felt unsafe in the...
I agree that you need to bring something to protect your hands. howerver I did not bring gloves but I did cut thin warm socks at the heel. Then, I only used the part from ankle until heel. It warms partly your arms (the part that can be chilly if your jacket or fleece is a bit wide) and you can...
Oh, sweet memories. After walking I took a shower and dressed into a long sleeves shirt of marino wool and legging also marino wool. A tiny skirt above. It felt like being dressed. Going to sleep I only took of the skirt. Early May I needed the long sleeves and legs to keep my muscles warm. When...
Hi
No need to bring a solar charger indeed. I brought one last year and used it only once in 6 weeks. This year I will leave it at home. You will become very keen in finding the power sockets. Mostly in the edges of the sleeping places. You could consider to bring a plug to share.
I liked the...
