I just finished! I walked into Santiago on June 6th as planned and then walked (most of the way, took a cab from Negreira to Hospital) to Finisterre and the end of the world.
I could not be happier, more sore or more full of love for everything and everyone. ESpecially those of you on this site...
Hello!
I just finished the Camino Frances and it was incredible! Everything I´d hoped and more. I had my fair share of physical woes through out and especially in the last week and a half with the decline coming down from O´Cebreiro and after. Because of all of the downhill action my ankles...
That's so exciting! I'd just start by taking a look at some of the great packing list suggestions on this site and seeing what you're missing. Then start planning your travels to Saint Jean Pied Du Port!
I have a question for all of you. I have less than a month to go before my first Camino and every weekend during my training I've been getting blisters underneath my pinky toes where they tuck slightly under the other toe. I must just have odd pinky toes but has anyone else had this and is there...
Hi John and patti!
I also have that night at orrison! I might end up walking past it though. Hopefully we'll see each other :).
For the Wordpress blog I just picked from their free formats and uploaded a picture of my own. I'm definitely not tech savvy so I bet if you dig around like I did...
Today is the one month to go mark! I'm definitely still very nervous but have gotten over most of it. I have no idea what will happen while I'm there and I have no idea what will happen here while I'm gone but I can't let any of that dictate my trip. I'm thrilled, I'm nervous, I'm excited but...
I've got about one month to go before I leave from Boston, Massachusetts USA to head to Paris and then on down to SJPD. I've started this blog to chronicle my training in the days leading up to the trip and will continue to update daily each night at the alberques. Enjoy and please feel free to...
Does anyone from the US know if you're able to use your GPS from your iphone overseas with a new local spanish card? Or does it require the usage of your dataplan to use GPS? I'd like to use my runkeeper app to track my progress for my family at home since I'll have my phone on me anyway for...
I'm considering getting insert for my boots as well but am not sure what will be most effective in avoiding shin splints. Some people suggest full inserts and some just for the heel. Any thoughts? I'm also concerned that by adding inserts into my boots that they'll bee too tight.nhas anyone else...
Heather,
It looks like we've planned the exact same trip! I'll also be starting the last couple of days in April/1st in May and plan to finish in Santiago on June 6th with the potential to move on to Finisterra from there.
I've gone crazy with trying to find all of the right info for weather...
Thank you all so much! I think some of my nervousness has subsided a bit. That two month to go mark really through me into a panic attack! This journey for me has been such a long time coming that I mostly can't believe it's really happening. I'm not sure what I'll find along the way but I'll...
Oh man oh man oh man... two months to the day until I start walking my very first Camino and actually going on my very first trip alone in my entire life.
I just got some last bits of equipment in the mail today and tehn it suddenly hit me like a ton of bricks, "Exactly two months from now I...
Catherine, this is great! My Spanish speaking abilities are also fair but rusty so I've been looking at ways to brush up as well. I've been using an audio program called Earworms which combines phrases and conversations with music and tempos so that it sticks in your head and is easier to recall...
Hi Catherine!
I just finished reading your entire blog back to front. Such a wonderful account of your trip! This has literally been the best reading I've done so far (and I read this forum obsessively) as it gives your account of how you felt throughout your entire journey. Being able to read...
