I took my crocs and never regretted the decision. They are light and I attached them to the outside of my pack with a carabiner. They were accessible when I finished walking for the day, so I could change my shoes while waiting in queue to get into an albergue. If it rained, no problem; my pack...
Wow you have done well with your backpack weight. Travel safely and since we start the same day from SJPP, we will probably meet somewhere along the way.

If it will make your way more comfortable, you want to carry it and it is not something you are attached to in case you decide to reduce the weight you are carrying. I think/feel and have learned from the forums, other than the essentials, what one carries is a personal preference.

I'll be staying the night of the 31st at the Collegiate Church.

Gerard,
You will be a day ahead of me; possibly I will see you. I will stay at Orisson on August 30th. I also will have (just ordered) a forum patch. Additionally, I also...

Scruffy and Sillydoll, you are both precious. I just decided to change my camino start from Saint Jean Pied de Port to Toulouse - hey, I am flying into Toulouse so why not start there and save the hassle of a train in the beginning. Your explanations have fortified my decision to start at...
I have worked on my travel route and after feeling "can't get there from here" while working on transportation from Paris, Madrid, Pamplona, I found flying in to Toulouse seems to be the easiest. I will take a train to Saint Jean Pied de Port and will be on my way. I have also heard that...
Thanks to you both. I started working on my return home and got overwhelmed. I am just going to take a break and come back to it later. At least I am still laughing at myself; also, thankfully, I am not leaving soon.
