Ah! But in in Sahagun proper, between the Arco de San Benito and the Rio Cea bridge, there is another monument appearing to compete for the half-way honors! I attach a photo of handsome me posing beside it last October..

It is marked on this page as "monument - memorial": 2,9 km from the center of Sahagún.
I started my first Camino in 2019 with a b/p-weight just over 5kg, not doing it superlight on purpose.
So, Kudos to you for a very minimalistic but all in all nice packing-list.

Yes, just don't stay in the typical "stage" towns. There are plenty of albergues in between and lots of Xunta albergues even in small communities between Sarria and Santiago. You will be either ahead or behind the group each morning.
