Hey, you can also keep your expenses low with looking for volunteers who offer free accommodations! Like the "le ami de saint jaque" on the via Gebenensis.
Just go to the church offices and ask for volunteers/hosting....
rest, cool it, Diclofenac/Ibuprofen and positive thoughts activates your self healing power ;)
If you continue walking check that your shoes are not so tied in the last part (closer to your shins) walk slow and regular stretching should be good....

It is also depending which Camino in Spain!
If I take the Francés there was definitely the majority of pilgrim menus just quantity.
I mean what can you expect for the price!?

After spending many many days on Spanish Caminos, I'm bored of "pilgrims menu" (and dry Bocadillos.....I prepare my own ;) ) and these places with bad manners where they treat you like a number/guiri and not like a person (experienced not only once).
