I think your Solomons are fine. If they aren't pretty new, they may not last a long Camino, so think about that. I don't wear liner socks. I wear midweight Darn Tough and Smartwool socks on the Camino year round.

September is my favorite month but note: it rains more as the month goes on. More pilgrims at the start of the month.

At all costs, take the river route even if you have to walk around a construction site. The other route is possibly the worst 6-8 kms of ANY camino!
