    Hiking/Walking Shoes or Sandals

I have a wide toebox but wides allow too much heel movement. I used Oboz low ankle hikers and Teva Terra sandals. I also have Topo tennis shoes, but I wouldn’t take them on the Camino because I can feel rocks even at my local park.

Help! Pack too heavy! — CF Sept & Oct — Senior Woman

Instead of a fleece jacket, I took silk long underwear—very light. By the end of October, I had silks on, hiking pants, rain jacket. I only took 2 spf shirts and 2 pants. It was really hot in early September but chilly by early November.

    Spider bites?

Doctor told me it was a non poisonous spider. It looked like a half moon of tiny teeth marks.

    Spider bites?

I received 2 spider bites in 2018, but I don’t remember what town. I ended up breaking into hives and went to emergency room in Ponferrada. Steroid shot took care of it.

It Is Normal For Feet and Knees to Become Sore

During my training before my Camino, I found rolling my feet over two frozen water bottles gave great relief. Of course, that couldn’t happen in Spain but it sure helped get my feet ready for the daily pounding.

OBSOLETE COVID THREAD Off To Ganado, Az. . .

I lived on the Rez and worked at Tuba City Boarding School for 6 years. My heart is so sad for the Navajos and all other First Nation people’s. Doctors Without Borders arrived on the Navajo Rez last week, so here we are as a first world country getting help typically reserved for third world😥😥

    Medical or Physio sought

Please get your husband assessed before walking very far. Two cases I wanted to tell you about include a friend and my brother in law. The friend was outside of Porto and decided he’d keep walking on his swollen shin until he got to medical help; that was 22 miles later. He ended up making it...

Pictures that show you totally outside your comfort zone on the Camino!

I remember those steps! I’d done more miles than any other day and didn’t know I had to climb to town!

    Medical help in Burgos please

My hotel in Burgos told me a hospital that took care of foreigners. I don’t know the name, but your hotel or a nearby pharmacy should be able to tell you. I actually left with no charge—not sure why except I just got a steroid prescription from the doctor. He signed off and told me zero charge!
