Is the Camino for the poor??

I know a few millionaires who have walked and enjoyed the experience of Albergues, it’s open to everyone from all walks of life.

COVID Requirements for testing for travel to US?

Just arrive at Madrid Airport early €29 for antigen test book time online. Although they do take walk ups but you have to wait. Got results in 15 mins. Too easy

    Recent tours at Atapuerca...

I did the tour a few years ago definitely only Spanish, however still very interesting and as a bonus the young girl doing the tour would occasionally tell me something in English.

If home is America the rapid antigen is enough. I did mine 3 hrs before my flight at Madrid airport cost €29 results 15 minutes

LIVE from the Camino November walking

Wow I left the Camino 2 weeks ago in Astorga as there were too many pilgrims and the Albergue there packed us in like sardines. Didn’t feel Covid safe so went to Portuguese and walked backwards much better

If you are staying in a private room are you tipping the help?

I don’t tip housekeeping but I do leave my room immaculate and take my rubbish with me.

what do you do if you can't find accommodation? is a tent necessary?

I am walking in late October and have a cheap lightweight tent in my backpack if I can’t get accomodation. I will pitch the tent when it gets dark and be gone after the sun comes up nobody will know I have been there. It is a good option in these times.

A stay of greater than 90 days

I think it’s 90 days in and 90 days out so a quick trip to Morroco will not work.

    The Camino will be waiting...Australians

We won’t open up until most people are vaccinated so convince all your friends to do so. I am lucky I obtained an exemption after 3 tries and am in the USA visiting grandchildren. I have my backpack and hiking gear with me and plan to walk in October.

    Thinking about tents

Hi David, I live in Australia and have camped the 88 temples in Japan and spent a few nights in tents on various Camino’s. I buy a 2 person Dome tent from Woolworths or Kmart for about $15 it is just about 1 kilo maybe under. If there is 2 of you one can carry the poles and the other the tent...

    Thinking about tents

I have done a combination of camping and accomodation on 5 Caminos and the 88 Temples in Japan. We never cook and try to camp where there is running water. Always take your rubbish with you and leave the site as you find it. My advice to you is to buy a cheap lightweight 2 man dome tent that...
