Yes it was the spiritual variant - and it was beautiful! Day one is a steep incline from Meis til the last 1k which is a rough descent. Armenteiro - in the evening the singing nuns at the monastery offer a vespers service for pilgrims. Day 2 is a beautiful walk, the way of stones and water, then...
I just did a combination of coastal/littoral up to Vigo - at that point many joined the regular Portuguese route to Santiago. It was fun taking the fisherman’s boat from Mougas, walking the beautiful beaches up to Baiona/ forest views to Vigo.
From Pontevedra I took the variant - which was so...
I just finished Oct 13 from Porto - did Litoral/Coastal & Variant. I had prebooked mostly thru booking.com however learned that wasn’t necessary! My Camino family that I met & walked often with had no reservations - they had no problems, mostly stayed in the public albergues (which showed closed...
I sent a message ahead on what’s app requesting bunks. It was completely full the night we were there so I was glad we had! There is also the monastery (I had emailed but was full) and a parador hotel - that’s it!

Hi - I flew to Lisbon on Sept21 - we got the rapid antigen text done at CVS(drugstore) the day before our flight - I printed out the results. The only time I had to show this was to United Airlines - no where in Portugal or Spain has anyone asked to see it or our vaccine certificates. I also did...
Just did this walk a few days ago - on the beautiful section of Stones and Water - just after leaving Armenteiro , there is a local fellow accosting women. (Happened to several of us) Just a heads up to not get into any conversation with him, keep you eyes forward!

I just finished the Portuguese Coastal & Variant - only 1 day rain - beautiful walking weather! Only time we put on a mask was to enter a shop, restaurant, Albergue etc which was mandatory. Outside walking the Camino I saw maybe 2-3 people total wearing masks.
And it’s the same here on the...
Anyone know which clinic is closest to the Cathedral/Pilgrims office - can’t find a map with the same locators as provided in list. Will need an antigen test, if anyone knows prices? Traveling September 23
Same day! But we are only planning to walk to Matosinhos later that day to have more time in Porto - so I guess officially starting 9/24 from Matosinhos - hope to see you!
I believe I read somewhere recently that as of june? the spiritual variant was now recognized officially - but of course I cannot find where I read that! Perhaps someone else can comment or knows of this ???
Do you know if the US cdc vaccination card is accepted at auberges/hotels/restaurants? I see you are from Canada but wondered if you spoke to any Americans. Planning to go mid September - trying to decide
