Last year when I was there, signage had been posted letting pilgrims know about the 2 different routes into Portomarin, one quite nice and one very, very rugged. You should have no issues picking the correct route for you.
Have fun!
If it is in your budget and you enjoy a bit of a splurge, I really enjoy Hotel Pompaelo near the city hall:

Logrono also has the Rioja Museum which I quite enjoy. A good mix of history and art of the region.

The Universe has paused my last Camino 3 times now. First was Covid when I was walking in Jan/Feb of 2020, then closure of the world in Jan 2021, then a broken leg 90 days before my scheduled return to complete my 2020 Camino from Astorga last October and now Omicron.
I will do another Camino...
While it is possible for the 3 of us since we are all triple vaxed, we have decided against the trip till fall. A Camino is hard enough without dealing with health passes, testing, etc.
I spent Sept of this year in France and it was pleasant as usual, all the added stress kinda dulled my...
I hate replying to my own post but...
Within the past 10 mins I received a correction email from Air France regarding entry requirements. The additional steps of quarantine, pressing need to travel, etc are for NON-Vacced folks.
I opened the 2 emails side by side to double check and it was a...
Well, it is official. We had to cancel our Jan/Feb camino. I received an email from Air France stating that starting 2 Jan, FOR THOSE WHO ARE UNVACCINATED, France will require pressing need for travel, a 10 day quarantine, a neg test, etc to enter France. As of yet I have not seen this posted...
Thats really interesting Dave,
I have wind shell mitts to go over my wool gloves but have never considered a latex base layer. Gonna try that out during hunting season this year.

I think they are doing this a few places when conditions are bad. Chatted with a team above Villafranca Montes de Oca in Jan 202 during a pretty icky ice storm. They were really insistent I reconsider continuing till I showed them my traction cleats.
I think it is a superb thing for pilgrims...
Albergue Rio Arga in Zubiri. Lovely man and I believe his son run the place. I stay there every Camino.
Posada Ignatius in Navareta. My one splurge. Fantastic people and the best towels in Spain. I honestly thought they were extra blankets.

We all have our bad days, be it pilgrim or local vendor. Misunderstandings happen and sometimes we have to add it to our list of experiences and move on.
In Jan 2020, I personally had an altercation with an albergue/bar owner over a plate of 20euro pasta and ketchup(no exaggeration, it was...
The answer to your question is a resounding, "Depends".
What is the nature of your work? Will you be shagging emails and simple documents for work or would you be video conferencing and generating large image files?
When will you go? Winter or early Spring will be very sparse on other...
Dont trust the mountains =)
As stated before, bring layering clothes. I have crossed over in early January and it was 68c and glorious. Crossing over in April is was cold, windy and 20cms of snow.
Good times,

I do not know the name of the company, but a person I met in Galacia had booked a fully planned tour and because of some personal issues and a nagging injury had to go off of her tour schedule.
She essentially lost all of her lodging, transportation, etc from Leon to the finish. All that money...
