Therefore: the air in your clothes has mass, but it weighs nothing (a balloon filled with helium has mass but a negative weight)

Re: Techno Geek’s Guide to the Camino
Neither God, nor His fan-club; it's the hooligans I really dislike!
Religion makes good people better, and bad people worse

There are shops specialized in articles for the running people.
They have undies for those who do need to protect their dangling parts.
Works for pilgrims as well.
I prefer shorts.

And I don't doubt about walking with two sticks.
I am very sensitive for tendonits, and walking with two sticks relieves every step.

All foot odour is caused by bacteria.
So every day clean feet and clean socks. (There are even silver-socks which kill odor-causing bacteria, thus preventing odors).
Those bacteria might have infested your shoes. You can kill them by placing your boots overnight in a freezer at -20 Celcius.
And...
Are there any? And if so, do they work, without blisters???
My advise: every day clean socks.
I used Falke socks. No blisters at all, lucky me.

And doesn't it depend on the season you'll be walking?
I am planning for autumn 2012. I'll see lots of rain, so I know trainers won't do the job for me. Wet feet will give you blisters...
Contemplating about gaiters.

Might not be the best idea.
I don't know what type of X-ray machines are used for air-freight, and I read somewhere that composed films are more sensitive for X-rays than uncomposed.
When I made analogue photo's, I used a lead film-bag for air-based transport.
Or consider having your films...
Wow, did this message roll out of a Time-Machine?
Yep, I think you might be in trouble if you want to buy 35 mm film in Spain. So if you want to use your panoramic camera, take along sufficient film. (Or contemplate on buying a modern camera with ultra light-weight memory cards)...
Looks to me as "over the top"
Map and Compass on the Camino?
Not necessary. There are those yellow arrows, and lots of people to show you the way.
Flash-light or head-lamp?
I did my Camino without.
Extra food?
Well, perhaps some nuts & raisins for the one day that there is no breakfast...
With nowadays high prices of image-tanks (or aren't they for sale anymore?) and low prices of memory-cards:
Buy some extra memory-cards, or have your images burnt on a CD at a photo-shop.
It's a light-weight solution as well...

Does Seam-Seal count as well?
I was told that it would make the seams of my backpack waterproof.
It didn't. Nothing makes the seams of your backpack waterproof.
Only a rain-cover or a poncho does the job properly.
Ultreya,
Carli Di Bortolo.
What about pencil and paper, a point-and-shoot camera, a paper guide?
Less distracting, less weight, less depending on loaded batteries...
For a blog, information, ... , internet-access is always nearby.
And you can't change the route, nor the weather.

One of my favorite frases used when meeting a fellow-pilgrim:
"Hi, nice smelling you again"
I used a heavy-duty 5 days working deodorant, but it didn't get the job done.
I saw other pilgrims smelling their own odour and apparently thinking: "Wow, is that me?!"
Problem...
Not in my backpack, in my pocket: a whistle.
Weighs nearly nothing, hopefully will never be used.
But if you fall down a ravine, you might be able to shout for an hour or so, leaving you without a voice. A whistle goes on and on.
Or to attract attention in other nasty situations.
Ultreya,
Carli...
