    post Camino walk...any advice?

It will depend on how you are feeling and how much of the time you want to spend walking. The Portuguese from Porto is a lovely route which I walked in October a few years ago and can be comfortably done in two weeks. Alternatively, you could continue on to Finisterre and Muxía in 4-6 days and...

Difficulty/ dangerousness/ albergues on the Primitivo?

Although, to be fair, I think I see two markers within thar picture. That's a lot more frequent than on many other routes of my experience. That said, I certainly wouldn't take the Hospitales route when the locals advise against it, no more than I would take the Napoleon route over the Pyrenees...

    The Pilgrim’s Guide to Etiquette

It is possible that the Portland in England precedes the Portland in Maine. It is often that way with North American place names not of indigenous origin.

Difficulty/ dangerousness/ albergues on the Primitivo?

For some context, the falls I'm used to thinking of as special are Niagara Falls (not my photo) which is a couple of hours from home: There are falls (or cascades) like in your video on the daily practice walk I do from my front door. I did enjoy the detour to them after Salas, and it wasn't a...

LIVE from the Camino K's San Salvador 24

After Melide, I stopped at Salceda and Lavacolla instead of Arzua and O Pedrouzo last July and there were pretty much no crowds. Generally, it was no busier than the Primitivo until I got to Santiago.

Difficulty/ dangerousness/ albergues on the Primitivo?

I enjoyed all three of these little detours, although I agree with Peter that the waterfall is not spectacular.

Difficulty/ dangerousness/ albergues on the Primitivo?

Wow. I remember thinking that the Hospitales was unusually well marked with very frequent markers just to prevent this sort of thing.

    Camino de Madrid

I slept at the Polideportivo in Santa Espina on my detour to Urueña. It felt like a real old-time pilgrim experience. But it was on a proper mattress on the floor, rather than a judo mat. I stayed at one of the youth hostels further down the road, but my day wasn't as long, having started in...

    Laundry Masher

Anything that says "I'm releasing nano beads into your wash" sounds suss to me. If it is, I wonder about the effect on the environment. If it isn't, it's a scam.

    Memory lane

This was very much a defining feature of my first Camino. I think it is still present on the Frances, but pushed back a bit because of all of the current pilgrims. Maybe it would be different if I walked in winter, or maybe it was that my focus was different then. I haven't felt it as strongly...

    Low fee ATMs. Where

For what it is worth, as a Canadian, I have been mostly using ABANCA on this trip. When I make a withdrawal I am informed that there are no fees from my home bank but ABANCA is charging me a modest fee.

From just before Burgos - 47 friggin kms to find a bed!!!

He listed them above in post #27. I don't happen to agree with him about how much responsibility they bear and my response is post #32.

    Be careful with phones.

The only thing to be prepared with is to ensure you can access it without your phone. If your Google Drive relies on your phone for two factor authentication (that is, for example, it texts you a code that you need to enter when you try to access the drive from a new device) and you lose your...

    Low fee ATMs. Where

As a Canadian, Abanco charges me a small fee. Deutsch Bank you to be one of the best, but not this year for me

Small juicer, vegetarians and heating element?

That was on the Salvador, in Bendueños. But I had plenty of other salads that went well beyond iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, (tuna) and onions: eggs, asparagus, olives, corn, shredded carrots, raisins, capers, nuts, beets, and, of course, other types of lettuce all made repeated appearances in my...
