I, too, debated bringing a sleeping bag, and I'm glad I did. I brought a light sleeping bag that folded up to the size of a football and took up very little room in my pack. If I didn't need it, it doubled as a neck or foot rest.
My vote is find the smallest one you can and bring it.
I saw this movie with 13 people of our local Camino chapter; we all loved it. I thought the best part is when several fellow pilgrim's waited for the two and said they had planned to wait and help.

I think the game does let you talk to other people. Last week I sat on the steps of a campground store and talked about the game to about 10 people who were playing, between the ages of 11 and 70. When I leveled up to 5, they all cheered me on and urged me to join their team.
