Ours started Los Arcos and by Burgos all 6 of us including many other pilgrims had been struck by the same symptoms. Mow in Leon and fully recovered after 10 days.
Unfortunately now the common rule in municipals is that u can also book them as well so here on Francis it can be they r also all booked out like last night here in Age. All full by midday!
Never hard to make friends here on the Way. People walk at different rates so friends float in and out of groups. Just enjoy the walk at your level and u will always find a friend to enjoy the time with.
I'm in Estrella today on Francis and free boxes are scarse this year. I had towel , face cloth and merono undies taken off line in SJPDP and only replaced with a small travel towel at Municipal albergue here today by the lovely hospidero.
The local bus from Pamplona leaves as early as 10.30ish and couple of times per day. The alsa bus leaves 12pm to SJPDP and wont drop of at Roncevalles and costs €22+.
Hi, I started from SJPDP on friday last and on reaching Roncevalles that night was told there were 200 more pilgrims than average ie 500 rather than 300 that walked that day and the same the next day I later heard. This may have been due to folk waiting for the good weather arriving Friday and...
What is an unbookable bed! In Roncevalles? By the way, Ronce is also fully booked for tonight as we.. now, so I'm told!! Here in SJPDP its wall to wall pilgrims, so by prepared for larger numbers than last week.
Well could be a bed race coming up soon. Roncevalles is fully booked for thursday 19th. I'm in SJPDP tonite and lucky to get an xtra night here and cross Pyrenees Friday when better weather predicted.
While walking can u please look out for my lost travel journal I lost late last week on the Ingles after Presado. My name Kathleen Buck is written on front page. Dates from dec 16 2023. Thanku
For the past 5 or more years I walk with my soft camelback water bottle with a similar hose adapter applied to top of the water bottle. Ie u remove the blue top u suck out of and push the hose in its place. It has to be the camel back water bottle that has the straw down the centre so u dont tip...
Im on the Ingles Camino at present. Finish Sunday then Tuesday train to Pampalona and depending on weather will bus over to SJPDP on Wednesday or start walking to Santiago from Roncevalles or Pampalona Thursday. Forecast for midweek looking good. Wondering how much colder than here in Presado...
In 2017 on the Messeta a younger group of walkers slept on one of the haystacks so they could star gaze. Not sure how their night went as I never ran into them again. But I did meet several folk who walked from 2am on the 12 klm stage to the next town to avoid the heat and star gaze at the same...
I also have this habit of returning my plate or cup, especially in a really busy bar or when I sit outside. I do this everywhere I travel and often are asked have I worked in hospitality! Yes, and it makes a difference to a long day on your feet!
