Why is it "obnoxious"when it is quoting a person from the area? The content puts it quite clearly as to why the Camino is important to the residents of northern Spain.
It's not insulting or obnoxious. It is simply a quote from a local. Are they not allowed to express what for them is a fact of...
Australia's national broadcaster, ABC, has this on its website. A good factual read.

Press release from Mark Butler, Federal Minister for Health. I found it in today's online Guardian headed:
Full statement on Covid border restrictions lifting from Wednesday
The home affairs minister, Clare O’Neil, says the lifting of the vaccination declaration will be “one less thing” for...
For Aussies on the Camino: As from Wednesday 6 July travellers to and from Australia will no longer be required to show their vaccination status. This is to encourage more tourists.
The new federal minister said "this is great news for those returning ..... as they will no longer have to fill...
This has been raised in the media and Border Force has declared there is nothing wrong with the app and it is really easy to use! I've used it and required my son in Aus to do it for me from his home (which he did successfully - but he is an IT software architect). My phone had been stolen so I...
My question is: I am flying into Paris CDG, on to Biarritz then St Jean PdP. When I enter Spain when crossing the Pyrenees am I required to register anywhere? Or do I just keep walking!?
That is very helpful. Yes, I found the Valcarlos route just as you say. I did not find the Zubiri descent too difficult as I took my time on the shale (but it was good weather).
Again, thanks
I walked the Valcarlos route to Roncevalles but am planning to do the Napoleon this April. I have a couple of questions if any pilgrim can help me:
1. I would like to do the shorter but more difficult way down from the top. I have watched a number of videos but everyone I saw took the longer...
Does any pilgrim have information on the bus from Roncevalles to Pamplona?
I know there is a daily bus that originates from Jaurrieta and picks up at Roncevalles at 0920 and arrives Pamplona at 1030 each day bar Sunday. However the bus website says tickets can only be purchased from one office...
All understood. I want to go from Sarria to Madrid on 11 April (Easter Saturday). I was going to do this last year as well but even two weeks before the site did not allow bookings even though it said 60 days before it would be open to do so. So was wondering how accurate the information is...
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be much of a bus service from Sarria to Madrid. Only one that comes up leaves from Lugo at midnight.
Can anyone shed light on train bookings for the Camino? I go to Rome2Rio to book from Madrid airport to Leon and later Sarria to Madrid.
It seems I can't book ahead yet I have read here that some have made bookings for the summer. I want to book for April this year.
Am I looking in the wrong...
I live in Sydney's north-western suburbs and we have not been in the line of fire but the smoke and eerie sky has reminded us that those west of us have had a terrible time of it.
The worst aspect now is the continuing drought which has made the fires far worse than they should have been. Today...
