Hi Cathy. My wife and I are also walking beginning the last week of August, 2015. We will be doing it "slow" between five and six weeks from SJPP to Finisterre. It is how we ate celebrating our 44th anniversary and her 65th birthday which will happen during our walk. Maybe we'll bump into you guys.
A change in plans we will begin at SJPP August, 2015 to celebrate our 44th anniversary and when both of us have entered into the 65 years of age category. No plans for 2014 other than to enjoy walking and walking and walking.
Hi Pattii - we will be walking at the same time, getting into France in late August in order to spend a few days dealing with jet lag before heading to SJPP to begin the walk.
HI Sister Simon, My wife and I are going to be walking at the same time. We will likely leave SJPP on August 28th, our 43 anniversary. Perhaps we will be lucky enough to meet you somewhere along the way. Robert
It has been decided that we will leave Saint Jean Pied de Port on August 28th, 2014. Why that date? Well, it will be our 43rd wedding anniversary, one month after I turn 65. :)
Hi John,
I will be walking later in the year than you, but like you, I am finding myself very impatient. By the way, walking to SJPP from Bristol would be a lot easier than walking from my home in Canada. :)
Buen Camino
Hi Emjay,
I hope that your Camino will be all that you want it to be. If you don't press the pace in order to race to Santiago, you should have little or no trouble walking 100 miles (160 km). Enjoy practicing with walks between now and then simply for the sheer joy of walking.
Buen Camino
My wife and I will be doing the walk from SJPP to Santiago, beginning in August 2015 to kickoff the start of officially being old fogies.
Bon Chemin / Buen Camino
I agree dougfitz, that the most difficult part is to achieve the desired weight by the time to walk arrives. I have just achieved this but wonder, seriously, if I can maintain this as BBQ season approaches.
Good luck, orlaithballach, on your training with hopes that the gradual approach allows...
My wife and I received our trekking poles in the mail yesterday. We bought PacerPoles out of the UK based on such positive reviews for them here on the forum. We head out this afternoon to give them their first test. I know that it is still some time until we leave for our camino in August 2014...
