To increase my backpack size ...or not.

The notion of limiting a backpack’s size as a method of controlling urges to pack more stuff is a notion i absolutely DISAGREE with. The volume of a backpack is not the issue; it is a lack of experience and discipline. A Stupid-Small backpack doesn’t limit one’s desire to take more stuff than...

Bringing Trekking Poles To My Camino or Purchasing them on arrival

That must've changed because neither Amazon.es or Decathlon Spain required ID, just a valid email account.

Bringing Trekking Poles To My Camino or Purchasing them on arrival

I order a decent but inexpensive, pair of trekking poles from Amazon or Decathlon to be delivered to the lodging site I will stay at to start a Camino. Because these trekking poles will be left behind when I fly back home, I do not need trekking poles that will last forever, just until I finish...

Is a pack liner a good idea or nah?

I typically do not use a pack liner. I use different colored ultralight silnylon 'stuff sacks' in which I place items appropriate for a specific 'room' in my house (backpack). Bedroom ... sleeping gear. . on camino that is my sleeping quilt and not much else. Kitchen ... has anything to do with...

    Robotic Hiking Pants!

Just posted a short Youtube clip. That was the first thing I thought of when Bad Pilgrim asked, "what if they go berserk?"

    My perfect ultralight sleep setup

Tried that once. . . it was a bit much keeping body hair shaved, however. And too itchy to boot.

Do I really need a hat?

Only at the C7 vertebrae. A slight application of 2Toms anti-friction blister prevention works well, though.

Do I really need a hat?

<Edited for Added Silliness and Fun. :)> I have just completed testing of Head Sack performance and have a few observations I can share. The Moderators do have my OK if they want to pin it as a 'sticky note' in the Equipment Section of the Forum. Head Sack Testing, plus Recommendations for...

AI-driven exoskeleton lightens your load and elevates performance

Good question. Perhaps they should undergo a security inspection to certify on-board safety? If properly tucked into a backpack, they may be compact enough to fit into the bag-sizing frame thingy which the airline check-in people use to make sure carry-on luggage is within the required dimensions.

AI-driven exoskeleton lightens your load and elevates performance

Yeah, the manufacturer does not want to deal with accessories. However, If desired by the rental customer, ours will include waist belt extenders as an equipment accessory. After a long period of inactivity and recovery, I have had ample oppotrunity to test the effectiveness of these belt...

    Wet hiking shoes

My findings on Merrill's Moab Tactical Boot. This review is specific to their higher top boot. But this same model does come with a shorter top version and is a bit lighter. The mid-version does not have a side-zipper. ------------------- Merrill Moab Tactical Boot as tested. The side zipper...

    Wet hiking shoes

Just a bit of a foreword here: If there were a pair of hiking or backpacking or distance walking footwear that would cause me to modify my wet weather walking routine, it would be the pair of boots that I most recently spent a large amount of rigorous testing with. I will post information on...

AI-driven exoskeleton lightens your load and elevates performance

Hmmm. . wear all the time..... 💡!!! I got it!! Every Exoskeleton device rented will come with a pair of Bionic-grino Pants. These pants will have a sewn-in special pouch to accomodate 'nature break' liner bags to deal with not being able to unfasten the exodevice sufficiently to clear the...

AI-driven exoskeleton lightens your load and elevates performance

Yes. To qualify you must walk 1700 km, making continuous progress to Santiago de Compostela on a recognized route. Two stamps per day is still required. The Pilgrim must also be in direct, concious control of the walking at all times, meaning he or she cannot simply set the exoskeleton on...

AI-driven exoskeleton lightens your load and elevates performance

That's no good. The horses are so great that I wouldn't dream of interfering with business. :)

AI-driven exoskeleton lightens your load and elevates performance

It reduces leg fatigue and cardio vascular effort by shifting much of your own muscle's effort over to the exo-skeleton. In Normal Mode, you go your same walking speed but you are hardly exerting yourself. It is an absolute Muscle Force multiplier. Push the button for 'Super-Dooper Mode', and...

AI-driven exoskeleton lightens your load and elevates performance

I might just set up a Pilgrim rental program in St Jean Pied de Port, with the drop-off location being at Roncesvalles. Story: HERE
