It did not rain on the hospitales today. But aside from viewing the ruins, there was limited visibility. Also, the path down to Berducedo was in my opinion, extremely tough.
Day 5 - tineo to Cornellana
When it rains, it pours. Everyone was drenched. 2 days of rain, wet backpack, fewer miles = frustration. Stayed at casa ricardo. Good albergue with a bar across the street. The sun came out at 6.30 pm ;)

Day 4 - salas to tineo
The weather changed for the worse today. Salas to bodenaya is a nice albeit uphill walk. Ended up being wet to the bone. The sun must be away south, for it did not peak out at us once. There is a nice albergue in tineo which is attached to a hotel - palacios meras. Menu...
Day 3 - Cabrunana to salas
Started off at 7.20 am. Lots of mist.....as it rained the night before. The countryside changes from being pristine and lonely. A fair bit more industry is noticeable. We took the highway into salas, feet were not in a good way.....There is a good modern albergue here...
Day 2 - Escamplero to cabrunana.
Started off at 7.20 am. Not a difficult walk until after grado....uphill all the way, with the sun beating down on our heads. Cabrunana has a wonderful albergue with 16 beds approx 50m away from the bar. Evidently, this was part of the original way, but has now...
Hi Laurie. Thank you for the kind support as always. The path from naranco leads you upto the sports centre. Then you follow the road down to Ules, and turn right. After some time, you end up in Lampaya. Gp straight thru, and you will finally come upon the start of the camino at a small church...
Thank you so much Laurie. Wifi has not been at its best so far on the primitivo.
Day 1 - ankle was not perfect, so did a cheat and took a cab upto naranco ;) what an amazing place. Walked the connecting path via Lampaya on to Escamplero. Weathe was good. There were only 4 of us pilgrims in the...
Thank you nick. I've had an amazing few hours so far in oviedo, except for twisting my ankle. Hopefully it will be good to go in the morning. Otherwise, maybe delayed by a day.....
Good day to all. As per the topic, could anyone help share what the wifi is like on the primitivo, as it seems to be a bit of the beaten path. I'm not using a local sim, hence this is really quite important.
Thank you kindly.
Will also be hoping to start from oviedo on 22/5 if not too jet-lagged.
Hope to see your good selves along the way. I'll be the slow walker with skinny legs who enjoys beers:)
cheers
Warm greetings once more.
I have a question pertaining to the Naranco site. Do I have to go back to oviedo afterwards, or is there a route onto the primitivo from the church?
Thank you for the kind help.
Warm greetings once more. I am putting together my packing list, and would greatly appreciate any feedback if I should add/subtract anything :
1. 35l backpack
2. 10° celcius sleeping bag
3. Emergency Medical kit
4. Mini flash light
5. Water bottle 0.75l
6. Toiletries bag/hygiene kit
7. Hiking...
Good day to you. Fully agree that we are benefitting tremendously from the experience of those who have walked this route before us. Many thanks to all those who have contributed their insights and opinions.
I am not very tech savvy, hence not sure whether able to make updates and such. Wishing...
Dean, thank you kindly for sharing the alternative route. It looks quite different from what I intended to do :)
In your opinion, was Muxia or Finnestre a nicer destination ?
Thank you so much Momonne for the kind advice. It is not so easy to get a hold of anything related to the camino in Malaysia, so I am just trying my level best to pre plan, as I am walking alone.
