  5. Wanderingfriend

    Luggage transfer

I am thinking of walking Porto to Santiago staying as close to the ocean as possible. I believe it might be called the littoral path. Is there luggage transfer available on this route?

    lockers in Finisterre?

If you are going back to Santiago I would see if the place you are staying will let you leave it there for the day.
  9. Wanderingfriend

Is 5 days in Finisterre a bad idea?

I have a few thoughts. If you decide to do Finnesterre, I would see it as home base. Maybe take a bus to Muxia (or walk), explore the coast a bit and come “home” to Finnesterre. My knee has given out. Need a place to recover for a week.

I will also add that all my physio in Spain was covered by my extended health in Canada. It might be worth checking if you have extended health.

LIVE from the Camino Bed bugs in Sarria

    Plantar fasciitis.

Since your pack seemed to affect it, I would send the pack ahead. And I’d get one of those small golf ball sized spikes balls and roll the bottom of your feet as often as you can, when stopping for breaks, in morning and night. You can also buy a band that goes on the arch of your foot.

    Ultra lightweight backpack--worth it?

I walked with an osprey aura first Camino. Too heavy for me. I switched to osprey eja, light weight. It made all the difference for me. The Norte is quite hilly so as little weight as possible is my mantra.

Sleeping bag or just liner (starting Frances at SJPdP on April 25th)

I walked April and May two separate years and I would have been way too cold in just liner.

Is it OK to write emails in English when booking accommodation?

I write my message on Google translate and cut and paste the message. If they respond in Spanish, I cut and paste it into Google translate and read it. It feels respectful, takes 30 seconds.

    Movie: The Road to Santiago

Yes. Thank you. I thought I missed something and maybe it was someone he walked with.

    Movie: The Road to Santiago

I have just watched The Road to Santiago documentary. At the end is a memorial to Bobby. Does anyone know the story behind this?
