Oh, davebugg, I am heartbroken you missed the point of my post.
Please accepted my apologies for any mis understanding. I cared for the sick and injured. Mea culpea.
...Perhaps you might be happy with being ignored as a person but I suppose that might suit you. In this day and age such behaviour from staff of a 5* establishment needs to be called out.
In case you are not aware the 'free ticket' is for the first 10 pilgrims at the 'starting gate' and...
For those lucky enough to get the free ticket to the Parador....
It’s a nice meal but my experience today made me wish I had not made the effort.
Staff there today treated us as though we were hardly worth bothering with.
Oh, it's pilgrims...serve and ignore.
Food was OK but would have been nice...
Having arrived in Pontevedra I looked in the mirror and thought it's about time to have a tidy up.
To that end there is an old fashioned barber who can do a very nice job at a very good price! Lovely man and he even remembered me from last year! Well, with a face like mine....;)
He's in the Rua...
I bought some anti-shock poles from Decathlon in Lisbon - aluminium and quite light. They were more than the 4.99 jobs but I suppose you get what you pay for and they work very nicely for me thankyou.
A case of YMMV😀
Also I dis-assemble them and put them in my bag (checked in baggage) for the...

I came across this article and apropos nothing thought it might make interesting reading....

Facinating stuff but not really that relevant to this site unless you are concerned about picking up...
I used lavadoras (a new word for me to use!) many times last year quite happily with good results.
However more than once I found that they had been used to clean some muddy item and then just left, unfit to use because of the mud left by the previous user.
Now that's inconsiderate and...
I know it's kind of off a tangent but having watched the video what came to my mind was the Monty Python's 'Four Yorkshire Men' sketch.
'Eeee, you was lucky, when I were a lad an osprey was a bird not something you kept yer tackle in.'
My 2c's. If you can't stop in time you are going to fast. Santiago is going nowhere so pushing past walkers is pointless as well as dangerous for all concerned.
