Usually Cana, grande, then they ask English and out comes an even bigger glass. If you need nourishment add a Magnum. If it hot have a Radler, beer plus Lemon, on draft.
I have never felt the need to take any luxury item on a backpacking trip. But someone thinks that a Digeridoo and inline skates are useful on the Camino Frances.

We often have many old churches, but few modern ones. This is San Ildefonso's, Camponayara, West of Ponferrada. CF May 2019. It had a very welcoming feel to it and a tranquility, it also had Storks nesting on it's tower.

It may seem heretical to some, but I love local cafe/bars, where there are no peregrinos/as. The gentle nod on entry, then the conversation resumes. the world is put to rights, local problems are resolved, or last night's TV discussed, and of course, the compulsory dog.

I have a confession to make, I do not like Bachalhau. I have tried, but never found one to my taste. Merluza (Hake), on the other hand I can eat a lot of, especially in Galicia. Picture is in A,Coruna, Camino Inglese Sept 2018.
One of the simplest Baroque churches in Spain, that I know of, The Church of the Virgin Peregrina in Pontevedra. It is a place of calm in a busy city. CP May 2019.
