Your choices are just what I’ve used in all my Caminos without a blister. My two sucks are about the thickness of normal socks. I’m also old and it took many trots find the right combo. All my Caminos have been done with some style of Brooks shies in wide. You’ll love the Camino.

I spent a fortune on a wind proof , UV umbrella and it only took one rain, gale and hurricane force winds on the Portugués Camino to turn me into a kite. In Santiago at the gift store at San Martin found a beautiful 5€ umbrella that I’m still using. Only out in the rain and sun and no wind.

I had the same problem with them. I will admit my walking is very hard on any shoe I wear. I have found that Brook's shoes seem to last thru a whole Camino. 4 done and was leaving in Sept but who knows now.
