Prep for late June to July Camino del Norte
Some people like ponchos - which is fine - I find a good rain jacket more multi purpose (use when you aren't backpacking in towns or after the camanio) do some research on the different types of Gore Tex. There are some really light versions but reading reviews they don't help in a downpour...- klinker

Shakedown request: February on the Camino Frances, 35 pounds current weight
Try to cut the clothing list in half. 2 pair of underwear, 2 pair socks (only merino wool! Unbound Merino has great stuff expensive but worth it. Darn tough socks) plan on doing laundry almost daily rather than carrying the weight. Very light tennis shoes (saurony, or wool allbirds very...- klinker

Just a few suggestions. I just finished the whole del norte a few days ago. Several suggestions on places to stay 1) Orio - San Martin Pilgrims Hostel - well run with a good sized kitchen for cooking dinner and a grocery store down in town 10min.
