Mmmmm....I didn't hear Keith speaking about the Spanish culture...I heard him speaking of pilgrim culture, and it IS important for pilgrims to immerse and adapt respectfully. I think y'all are saying the same thing. It is fair to expect pilgrims to behave respectfully toward the communities...
Hi, Keith:
thanks for sharing your experience and your views. I was on the Portuges Central way in March, and had a much less intense experience re: bad behavior...likely because there were many fewer people on the pilgrimage at that time. I also was thrilled to see the Botafumeiro at the...
Just a PSA with supporting evidence: I had only 2ish of 10 days with sunshine, and here’s what I got without gloves, using poles.

I just did 10 days in hotels and I will pack very differently next time…I took many things I didn’t use…like sleeping bag and puffy coat (even in March). What I DID use was my Rumpl one person blanket (3 times) and my towel and the conditioner I brought. Did not need soap or shampoo, and I will...
Hi, Paddy,
I’m in Teo now, to SDC tomorrow. Weather has been very moderate, comfortable, a few days rain, nothing dramatic. Not very many pilgrims, plenty of open cafes, albergues, restaurants EXCEPT on Mondays, many closed. All good, nothing significant to report! Have fun! Buen Camino.
I’ve spent the last nine days Porto to Teo, with temps averaging 15-19° and I’ve gotten by consistently with merino leggings, t-shirt and fleece. Haven’t taken my puffer out once. Have been a little warm a few times…feels very moderate, even when wet/rainy.
Just in case…I’m on the Portugues Central and left my fleece somewhere before during or after Caldas de Reis. It is very recognizable…University of Colorado College of Nursing. 🙏🏻🤞🏻
