Hi Jill,
All the best for your Camino! You will require a letter from the Confraternity of St James S.A. to get the Schengen visa.
It is well worth joining...you also receive a pilgrims passport and there are other benefits. Have a great Camino!
Ebook for camino north :http://tourism.euskadi.net/contenid...os/2011/santiago/Caminos del Norte INGLES.pdf. you have probably seen the www.mundicamino.org, www.gronze.com & http://caminodesantiago.consumer.es/los-caminos-de-santiago/del-norte/.
The Lycian Way is a wonderful adventure & you're not going to just want to walk there! I only did parts of the walk following Kate Clows book & maps( there is also an accommodation supplement) & The Lonely Planet enriched the rest of my journey. Staying at Montenegro in Faralya was memorable...
"The Poets Hostel " in Porto & Lisbon are highly recommendable. They include a substantial breakfast, free internet, information & are the friendliest! Just Google them. Casa da Laura in Vilarino is wonderful too. Caroline at the bar on your left as you enter Vilarino...
I walked parts of the Lycian Way in Turkey before walking in Spain.
It was an amazing, beautiful & enriching experience. however the Caminos
of Spain have a very strong "enticing me back" appeal!
