Porto to Santiago
I walked the CP in September '23, beginning on the 5th, finishing the 13th. Weather was great throughout. I took the Senda Litoral out of Porto, inland above Labruge, then the Central to the Variante Espiritual, which was fantastic. Best day of the week to begin in Porto, September
We left this past Sept 5, a Tuesday, and it wasn't very crowded. We went to Labruge via the Senda Litoral, which was a great walk, but longer than we thought it would be. As first day, it could be a bit far if you're worried about stamina starting out.- CalDevere

The walk leaving Porto along the river to the ocean is lovely. We did that and then turned inland above Labruge.- CalDevere

Switching to central - Mindelo or Vila do Conde?
The way was marked pretty well into Rates. I don’t think it went through Vairao, but nearby. I use Camino Ninja app when in doubt.- CalDevere

Switching to central - Mindelo or Vila do Conde?
You’re probably already past the point, but we went via Mindelo, and it was quiet and lovely. A few spots on busy roads with traffic zooming by, but overall nice.- CalDevere
