    Sanabres "Glitch"

We went to Laza for Entroido this year. There's a day where everyone throws mud soaked rags and ants at each other. It was wild. We made a video about it: Laza is a super small town. Even from Ourense, there aren't any regular public transit options.

Seeking advice on walking the alternative route through Las Medulas mining site

Oh yeah, that mastiff was not old and was definitely a problem. The young guy who owned the house saw us on the road later and apologized. But he also said that he only chains the dog if it's peak pilgrim season.... ugh. He also said "if I had known you were coming, I would have chained it."...

Seeking advice on walking the alternative route through Las Medulas mining site

We walked the route last March (2023) and it was definitely hard to find. Used our gps on the Wise Pilgrim app. There were a few bits in the forest where we were confused, but it all worked out. It's not too far to do Borrenes to Puente Domingo. We did Villavieja to Puente Domingo with the...

    Lunch in Madrid

We've been to Dala's Cervecería Bar Restaurante several times. It's about 5-10 minute walk from Chamartin. It's always open, serving food, and locals love it. https://maps.app.goo.gl/8k4Xdq68s9Y15zpF7

Heat Wave warning France, August 2023

Ooof. We’re all walking into the heat until Friday or so. After tomorrow, we have some shorter days planned. I’ve got some electrolytes from the pharmacy (like pedialite). Literally my life saver right now. You take care, too!

Heat Wave warning France, August 2023

We’re in Varaire (going to Cahors tomorrow) and we’re currently melting. Can’t sleep at night since there’s no AC and not even a fan. We’ve been starting at 6:30 am. Today we did 28 km by 1 pm. Not fun to go that fast.

In search of a contributor for a Podiensis guide.

If you still need contributions, we're walking Le Puy to Santiago starting on August 5th. We've used your guides for the Norte, Invierno, and Primitivo. They're very helpful!

    Portable Charger

I totally agree. We just charge up when we get into the albergues. You don't really need a portable charger unless you're really using your phone/device a LOT.

Packing list review - Camino del Norte/Primitivo in June

Great start! Just finished the Primitivo and did the Norte a few years ago. You don't need a pillow. You'll only need one pair of shorts. Definitely bring nail clippers. Recommend picking up hiking poles and a small knife (for picnics) when you arrive. Put all your toiletries into smaller...
