Has anyone used a Faraday bag for their mobile or computer while on the Camino? If so, how does that affect getting access to wifi when you take it out? Thank you everyone!
THANKS SO MUCH for this, Kathy! YES, all to look forward to . I am going to experiment with this cheap 1 lb mini bullet blender in order to concoct some of my own juices, gazpacho, raw soups, etc! What the
heck? It's only a pound ha ha!
THANKS SO MUCH FOR SHARING THIS! It is a good reminder....I am so sorry you have these sensitivities. That is a drag!
A friend just returned from a luxury trip to Italy in high end hotels. She does not know how she brought bedbugs back to NYC but it was probably in transit. Yikes! So...
YEP! It sure will be an adventure! In contrast to many who have kindly responded, I am coming from a country with prolific year-round produce and consume a lot of it. When I was in Scotland and the UK it was a real challenge LOL!
Thanks, Surya. Yes, planning to carry the coil and mug for coffee, tea and soup... I know this will be a worthy investment. I will start carrying around the cheap 1 lb juicer to see if it is worth carrying to make my own gazpacho and juices from those wild food options...
Although I have not done the Camino yet, you can google which aromatherapy oils repel bedbugs as well as other critters. Then get a small spray bottle, filled mostly with isopropyl alcohol and add approx.
20 drops of the aromatherapy oil and spray mattress, your sleeping bag, etc .These oils are...
Thanks for letting me know. However, some say microwaves alter the molecular structure of food and water and I do not use them. I am bringing my own heating element LOL!
THANKS so much everyone for your kind feedback and suggestions already listed and more to come!
I guess nobody has brought their own cheap, light-weight juicer with them as I will try to do...easy to
toss or gift to someone.. .In order to make juices out of all the great produce. Also sometimes...
Thanks for this. Good to know. I enjoy a limited amount of meat. The issue is more about juicing and making my own coffee and tea during off hours. All input welcome... Glad to know about the option of salads, have not seen much over there on an earlier visit!
I realize every ounce matters when carrying backpack and not shipping luggage ahead. However,
I know that the Spaniards are big into meat and potatoes, and not so much produce. I am thinking of
bringing a very light-weight chargeable juicer and also a mug-size heating element for making juice...
Hola Finona, I am in a similar situation but doing Camino Frances this fall not next. I do speak fluent Spanish and plan to stay in other accommodations but great to know there ARE albergues with private rooms of which I was unaware. I also use booking.com at discounted level but good reminder...
WOW ANHELTER! God bless you! Some of us women, well speaking for myself(vain) could not
make it with this sparse amount! Question: Would you be kind enough to share the type of very
light sleeping bag you have? I have been practicing walking around my town in Mexico on hills
and cobblestones...
Thanks so much isawtman. Good on you for this great bucket list adventure at a latter time in life!
Yes, i have been curious to hear why people feel compelled to walk so fast. My plan is to make many
stops, enjoy the sites and a lot of great cuisine unavailable where i live! Thanks again for...
