To each their own, but that's a bigger pack than what I'm taking to graduation.... then following that to the Camino! I can fit several days of clothes in my 1.0 Liter. So, obviously my answer would be no, no, no.
I did Sarria to Santiago in 2012, because I was on Fall break from my studies. It's still very hard.... don't let anyone kid you. That said, you'll be tempted to rush through it.... just relax, bring duct tape and Vaseline, and try to savor every moment. It will be over before you know it!
It really just depends on a lot of stuff, IMHO. I've been fairly blister free doing 10 to 12 miles a day for the last three weeks, but now I have them. Considering this, I would say see how it goes. That said, based on my own experience, I've been training for over a month and I still don't feel...
I'm prepping for a Camino in July and have tried several types of socks (Wrightsocks, Thorlos, and Zensah). They all have their highs and lows. Zensah seems to be the best for me. I've tried liners and everything. You really need to buy several brands and thicknesses and see what works for you...
I think my two favorite places to stay back in 2012 was my first and last stop, neither of them do I remember their names. The first one was about 12 to 14 km from Sarria and was new at the time. Had a little rustique stone bar near the Camino and a modern dormitory up the hill. It was great for...
That's interesting about the bunks and age. I've never really thought of it. Last time I walked was the end of October so I got any bed I wanted. Curious what will happen this time? Hmmmm....
I'm technically from nowhere these days, but I've spent most of my life in North Carolina. I've lived in Europe, California and originally I'm from Ohio.
I used Kiwi.com to find the flights then booked directly with the airlines. Ended up finding fares around $200 each way. I'm flying Wow from Boston to Europe then Nowegian back. Using Ryanair to make connecting flights. Super cheap.
I did Sarria in 2012, and just got one at the first café I hit outside of town. Going on memory, there's one 1 to 2 hours up the hills once you start walking (a good stop for a drink). The next stop was where I stayed for the night. Of course, you could go into any café in Sarria and obtain one too.
Technically, I'm in North Carolina right now, however, I've lived all across the U.S. and in Europe.
I'm hoping to go all the way. I have 34 days to go from Saint Jean to Santiago (20 July to 24 August)
Last time I went at the end of October, so I'm a bit indecisive about what to pack this...
