    One Year On

I walked into Santiago with my Camino family and best friend exactly a year ago today. Missing it every day...and the feeling just seems to get stronger. <heavy sigh> I now fully understand why pilgrims go back time and time again!

    Albergue recommendations...

Hi Kelly~ I returned from my first camino a year ago and am missing it every day! This is the EXACT itinerary we followed. You should have no problems walking those distances (but, of course, remain flexible!). I am 46, in decent shape and held up just fine. As it is still fairly early in the...

Some of my biggest advice for newbies

Howdy Keith! I live in Bozeman and am so envious of your upcoming camino! My friend and I did the Frances exactly a year ago and I miss it every day. You are in for a real treat. I'd love to hear about your trip when you get back...if you ever find yourself in Bozeman, I'll buy you a beer and we...

    Phone usage

As soon as I left the US, turned my iPhone on airplane mode, so cellular data was off (therefore no charges incurred) and relied on wifi the whole month. Used a combo of FaceTime, Skype and Whatsapp (great to keep up with new camino friends along the way, as most Europeans I met prefer it)...

Oh, Margaret, thank you so much for those words of wisdom. Laura and I have known each other since our babies were born and have been fast friends ever since. We are perfectly suited to walk the Camino together, both in temperament and intention. That being said, we have had a serious discussion...

    Class of 2013

Two weeks from today my friend Laura and I will be boarding a plane here in Montana to Barcelona to start our Camino from Pamplona on March 7. Excitement vs Anxiety is the name of my daily game right about now, but my nerves get calmed every time I read the great advice and reassurances on this...

    Altus Poncho In USA

@Kitsambler- The Ferrino Trekker looks perfect...thanks for the tip! One question-I'm 5'5". Should I order the S/Med or L/Xlg? Want it to be long enough to cover most of my legs (bringing gaters, as well), but don't want it so long as to stumble along the way. Appreciate the advice!!

    Altus Poncho In USA

    Altus Poncho In USA

Howdy! Do any of you USA pilgims have an Altus Poncho that they would be willing to part with (I would be happy to pay you for it, of course!)? I'm going in March and am sure to hit some rainy times! If no luck with the above, any advice on how easy it would be to purchase one once on the...
