I have been doing this for 4 years now and not once have I been able to take the train...… because of the track needing work on it!! but the bus goes from the rail station and you can get a ticket from the train office Buen Camino
if you re going to loose your air fare in fees you might as well go and see how you feel after a few days. dont overdo things if you do come home early you will have at least had a glimpse of how it is
when youarrive at CDG you will have to go to a different train station to get the train to Bayonne, Gare Montparnase, easiest way is to take the number 4 coach from CDG to Montparnase, it's a coach which just goes a circuit of all train stations in Paris, its name is "the Bus Direct" its easy...
ref how to get him to come with yo. First thing is to turn your mobile off, look him in the face and say something like "hey do you fancy doing the Camino with me next year"
give it a go and see what developes, perhaps you have been training too hard, perhaps there is a bit of the psychology mixed in with it all, 2 years planning etc and the day is upon you, the mind is a powerful thing, try it and see buen camino
Lots of people have the same feelings as you - so don't feel alone in that way! You walk alone but you are never "on your own" don't feel you are isolated you are never more than a few minutes from other Pilgrims who are always open to company. buen camino
It's been said before but do get your weight of back pack down to below 10km, a must!!!! last year I went 42 km in one day, because I was enjoying myself and lost track of time! Buen Camino
I am 63, I have done the camino twice and hope to make 3 in May. I have dodgy knees and have Parkinsons disease. Now if I can do it, so can you! It is not a race, don't think you have to do so many km in a certain time, enjoy yourself, rest when you feel like and don't forget, a long distance...
I hope you all think that I am a bit of a downer here but if you want to cut your 'walking weight' why not just go on a diet for a week or so before you go?
I have done the Frances twice in the last 3 years and will do it again in May this year, I am 63, dodgy knees due to my job and have Parkinsons disease, if I can do it, so can you! Just take it easy, it's not a racee, listen to your body and enjoy the experience !! Buen Camino
Relax! it is not a race, listen to your body, if you are tired - stop and rest!! enjoy the walk, don't get so focused that you miss all the things which make the Camino so special, namely the people! Buen Camino
