Hello Robyn,
Thought I would add another element to all the great suggestions. I am flying from SFO to Dublin in September. The cost was just over $800.00 and significantly less than either CDG or MAD. I am flying from DUB to Biarritz on Ryan air for pennies and will return from Santiago to...
Hi Joanne,
You will find several individuals (me included) flying Ryan Air from DUB to Barritz, then train over to SJPdP from Bayonne. On the return, Aer Lingus has a direct flight from Santiago back to DUB, but check their schedule because I believe they stop that service at the end of...
Hello Tumbleweed,
Hope to share a walk with you this September. I decided to leave my sleep sack and bring a light weight sleeping bag and a Pyramid Bed Bug Guard Sheet. Should do the trick whether I use the bag or not.
Could you bring us a bottle of vino from Bordeaux. We also depart from st jean pdp on the 18th. I could share all my Canadian stories and French bread in exchange....
I hate to keep harping on this subject but I have an iPad mini which contains a nano sim as opposed to a micro sim. This sim cannot be "cut down" to size so I'm trying to purchase prior to my arrival to ensure I can get the needed sim. Most sites I have visited are in spanish and my google...
Both me and my son use a CPAP and for our September Camino, we chose to buy and use night guards. They are not as effective as the gold standard CPAP but they work well. Check with you local dentist for "Dental Appliances". Good luck.
Hello comrades,
The larricka expedition looks forward to meeting all you September Camino's. My son and I start our adventure on 19-9-2013 in SJPdP leaving SFO on September 16th.
I found the least expensive flight from SFO was into DUB. Checked LHR, MAD, BCN but saved about $400.00 for each ticket (total savings $802.21). Got a direct flight from DUB into Biarritz (Ryan Air). Bus to Bayonne and train to SJPdP. The last two equal what it was cost if you flew into MAD...
I too am 63 and in decent shape. I've been hiking every other day 9 to 10 miles with my 21 lb Atmos 50 back pack and feeling very comfortable. Today I decided to hike a local mountain that represents my first day out of SJPDP. Sea level to 3100 feet rising in just under 3 miles. It was...
The new version of "Hiking the Camino De Santiago" by Anna Dintaman and David Landis was invaluable to me. I spoke to the author and was told the electronic version should be release this summer. The referenced web was also helpful. Buen
I'm just walking from SJPdP to Santiago but my son is continuing on to finisterre. I'll need some time to recoup in Santiago. Flying out of DUB ($400.00 cheaper than CDG) and will give me additional time for exploring. I will miss this great SFO weather.
"Can't I just go to Disneyland" very funny. This is more like the never ending roller coaster rides... Turns out, I'm just below both of you. Start my Camino in mid September. Buen
