As some of you might noticed, my blog now got it's own page and has been moved to: www.michaelv.at
Unfortunately, I won't be able to write a new post on a daily basis anymore, since there are other commitments which will keep me quite busy, such as working :)
I'll still try to publish a new day...
I'm very happy that you like what I'm doing and exited that you'll bring me on your journey with you :)
Buen camino to you!
Guess there're quite a few more things which could harm you over there…
I'd still love to get to your country some day. One of my childhood dreams 8)
All the best...
Hi Nalod,
thank you so much for your kind words!
It's very nice to see some appreciation, since writing a blog on a daily basis does take a LOT of time...
I'm very happy that you enjoy it so much :)
Regards,
MichaelV
@ SYates,
It's actually the same content, but I have it translated into English, French and Spanish, so all the people I met on the way can read it...
@nalod
thanks for the the mentioning and I'm glad you like the blog! :)
I cover most of this route in my blog (also contains some links to hostels), but if you have any other questions, get in contact with me anytime...
Happy to help :)
Hi chirimiri,
I did the Via Jacobi in summer 2012, but I came in from Austria and joined it at Wattwill.
The track starting at Konstanz can be done in 19 days, according to the German guide I used (which I also can highly recommend: http://fave.co/17QP7X1), with stages between 20km and 30km...
The primitive is quite well marked, so you don't need a step-by-step guide for it.
But it's not the camino Frances, where you have a mark every 10 meters :D
The local alberges (especially in Oviedo), do have some small guides though, which helped me find the way again, on the rare occasions I...
Boots!
For me this was the only choice, since they also support your ankles.
Trip once wrongly and your camino will have to be walked another time…
But I guess this is also dependent on where and which route you walk…
I used those: http://fave.co/17xOnG1
First I used different hiking boots, which gave up after around 1000km, but afterwards I got some of those: http://fave.co/17xOnG1 and walked for another 2500km…
And I still have and walk with them, even though I really should get new ones now :p
Hey everybody,
I've walked the camino last year from my home in Austria to the end of the world…
It was an absolutely amazing experience and changed my life completely!!
So if you would like to also read a bit about it, check out the blogs in my signature.
And I'm always happy about...
Hello everybody,
what I can offer is not a "real" live blog, since it's delayed by exactly one year but to re-live my nearly 3500km walk once again, I'm posting the current day of last year daily here:
