Thank you for sharing your experience and advice. I plan to cycle from Lucca to Rome in September. I am not in great physical shape so plan to ride an ebike as I have heard the hills can be challenging.
We are also planning the same route during the same time! We have used Camino Ways (based in Dublin) in the past when we walked along the Camino Frances and they were wonderful. We just put down our deposit for the Portuguese route with Camino Ways.
Besides Ultreia which has been mentioned previously (and tattooed forever on my foot) I would say "Connectivity". This was the first trip for me and my husband to Europe and a first trip in over 20 years where it was just the two of us without our children. We connected in ways that were better...
My avatar is the top of the hill in my neighborhood, Bernal Heights. Its a great place to walk, meet your neighbors, walk your dogs and look to downtown San Francisco and across the Bay. My name is my first and last name. I will have to come up with something a bit more creative :)
I used Camino Ways (based in Dublin) for our first walk several years ago. You can tailor your walk to your own preferences and I found the prices to be reasonable. The agents were very knowledgeable and responsive to my many emails. Ultreia!
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing. Yes, the movie did introduce me to the Camino but it wasn't until a few years later that I was inspired by a book called God's Hotel that led me and my husband to the Camino for my 50th birthday. The book is about changes to the healthcare system in the US and...

Hi Jodean!
We are flying out tonight to Bilbao and will arrive in Pamplona by the 20th. We wanted a couple of days to explore and decompress from the long flight and will be staying at the Europa. I will have the wooden pendant with the Camino de Santiago cross emblem attached to my green...
Hello All!
After two years of reading about the Camino, me and my husband are starting our first walk next week from Pamplona. Although we can only do a small portion of it right now (ending in Logrono), I am very excited as this is also my first time to ever travel to Europe. I anticipate we...
I bought our Renfe tickets on the RailEurope website (from the US) going from Logrono to Barcelona. Had no problems using my credit card and printing my tickets from the PDF link on the confirmation email.
Nothing creative here... Just me, Donna San Juan... From San Francisco, California... Walking for the first time with my husband for my 50th birthday this September.
Thank you everyone for your thoughtful advice! I am feeling much less stressed about booking our flights now with a much clearer picture. This forum is such a wonderful resource!
Peace,
Donna
