LIVE from the Camino Slow Camino de Madrid

I’m in Segovia today seeing the sights, however I’ve had a situation come up back home so I will need to return to the States. At least I got the toughest part (I presume) of the Camino de Madrid completed. I’ll plan to pick up from here at another time. Buen Camino.

LIVE from the Camino Slow Camino de Madrid

I was in Manzanares last night and stayed at the Hostel La Pedrisa. Nice place with a good bar and a private terrace for guests with a great view of the mountains. €25 I believe and I roomed with another pilgrim from Quebec. Ray & Rosa are walking the Primitivo so their place was not available.

    RETHINK walking the Frances

Often I would just walk into a bar and ask "Tienes una habitation para una persona por esta noche" and discover that they did in fact have rooms available, not listed anywhere. It made life a whole lot easier.

    Descent into Molinaseca

I must admit that it was an exhilarating descent, but very doable even on a rainy day, Molinaseca was quite a welcome sight however.

Arrived in Santiago on the 18, limping but completed! Thrilled to see my wife who met me there. We are now in Paris seeing the sights and ready to fly home tomorrow! It's been a Buen Camino. Thanks for all the insight from the forum. Fred, take care of yourself, you are a good man!

    September 2014 Peregrinos

I'm in Palas de Rey tonight, walked in rain all day today but found a clothes dryer, electric that is, so at least I will start the day tomorrow dry. Many more pilgrims on the trail since Sarria. Three days to Santiago! Buen Camino!

    September 2014 Peregrinos

I'm in Cardeñuela this evening at the Albergue Via Minera, €8 and €8 for a meal, nice place to stay after the rather rocky climb up and out of Villafranca de Montes de Oca. By the way the albergue there is also good San Anton Abad. Tomorrow Burgos! Buen Camino
