I believe it is definitely possible. My daughter and I both struggle with our feet (a hereditary condition) and although we fully intend to walk every step of the way, we are open to the idea of catching a taxi if and when necessary - obviously we would then not qualify for our compostelas, but...
I can't help with blogging advice, but had to jump in and say how happy I am to hear you'll be blogging again. I'm a longtime follower of your blog and always enjoy your posts :)
Hi Ewald
We're from Durban. We plan to walk the Portuguese Coastal (actually mainly the Seaside route) from Vila Praia de Ancora in mid-June - we start walking on the 16th.
Our plan is:
Vila Praia de Ancora - staying at Albergaria Quim Barreiros
V P de Ancora => A Guarda 15kms (Hotel Vila...
Have a look at the blog I created here - we did a 7 day walk from Pamplona to Logrono. We walked reasonably short days as we weren't very fit and I struggle with arthritis. We absolutely loved the walk.
We spent just over a week on the Camino last year, my husband and I are both overweight and were extremely unfit when we started training - our training was a bit of a bust (you can read about it here => my Camino blog) so we were not very fit and still significantly overweight when we began...
My husband, daughter and I recently did a week-long walk on the Camino, from Pamplona to Logrono. We walked roughly the distances you mention. It was a lovely walk and I'd highly recommend it. I did a blog of our walk, with lots of details and photos, you can find it here if you are interested.
Hi Tony, we are back from our short "taste" of the Camino (it was a wonderful experience!) so I thought I'd update you regarding Locker Barcelona. We found them to be fantastic. We stayed at Hotel HCC Montblanc, which turned out to be a great choice as on the morning that we left it was a very...
We're starting our Camino in 2 weeks, we're planning on storing our luggage at Locker Barcelona (http://www.lockerbarcelona.com/en/) I have been in contact with them via email and all I had to do to secure our lockers for the duration was to pay upfront for a single day. They are giving us a...
We recently had to pay a deposit when we booked a private room in an albergue in Lorca - this albergue wasn't on booking.com. It was a bit of a nuisance because the bank charged us quite a steep fee to process the deposit. I can see why they want the deposit though.
We are also arriving in Barcelona on the 16th June - we're only walking for a week, from Pamplona - and we feel the exact same way you do, counting the days!
We are doing a short stretch from Pamplona to Logrono in June. I booked most of our accommodation through booking.com a few months ago. Recently my daughter decided to join us, when I went to book her rooms I found that a couple of places were sold out. This year has been declared a Holy...
