LIVE from the Camino Making Memories and Mistakes on the Camino

I love your remark about buying cigarettes - yes, you do have to plan on where to buy cigarettes. Best bet is a vending machine in a bar. And plan ahead - have a few spare packs in your backpack. Buen Camino to you - so far it has been very interesting.

Hello. The Camino has been at the top of my bucket list...

May you have a wonderful time walking the Camino. Pack as light as you can, bring a set of spare clothes, a poncho to protect you from the rain and the lightest sleeping bag or a liner. If you find that you need anything, you can buy it in Spain. Do not bring your worries or the "what if.."...

    Spontaneous adventure or complete disaster?!!

I finished the Portuguese a few days ago. It is a wonderful walk! I stayed in the Albergue at the Monastery of Herbon just before Padron. It is a wonderful place with a communal dinner and breakfast. You sleep in the tiny rooms, the monks used to live in. You are also offered a tour of the...

    Where do ( did ) you walk ( locally ) in 2022?

We have had the most beautiful Spring weather, warm temperatures and no rain. It inspired to a wildcamping trip to Odsherred only 50 km. from Copenhagen Nature showed itself at its best with flowering anemones and balmy evenings. Still too cold to swim in the sea

    Where do ( did ) you walk ( locally ) in 2022?

I went for a walk in the woods and stumbled across this giant troll amongst the trees. In 2016, the artist Thomas Dambo made the popular 6 giant trolls "Forgotten Giants" from recycled wood, and they can be seen in the woods west of Copenhagen. I have heard about the trolls but not seen them and...

    Walking Hendaye to Irún

I remember walking across the bridge. I flew into Biarritz, jumped on a bus at the airport and it let me off at the bridge and I walked across into Spain. And continued to the albergue in Irun. Now this was back in 2006, a long time ago.
