Hi! Ricitosdeplata,
Is there a local "Camino Group" close to where you live? It is wonderful to share experiences with like minded people who have either walked the Camino or are planning to do so. Our local group helped me get over the "Camino Blues " on return, and no one "rolls their eyes"...
Much the same as Ian Afloat, except we always have a triangular bandage in the kit.
Can be used as:
a simple bandage
a sling
a tourniquet
eye bandage
pad for a wound
a bandana
shade from the sun
wet it and wear it around the neck in hot weather
a strap or makeshift belt and I'm sure many other...
I will be happy to share our experiences, though everyone's journey is so different. We are in the older age bracket and aware of flexibility in plans. Happy planning viv1959
Kiwi family - we really appreciate your comments on the Portuguese Camino and it is a valuable contribution and makes us aware of how the journey may be. Yes we have trepidations but this often happens when venturing into unknown territories. Thank you for your honest comments.
From Lisbon but we will be using bus or train transport some of the way to Porto as we wish to visit Fatima, Braga and spend some time in Coimbra and wherever takes our fancy. We hope then to walk all the way from Porto
Thanks , so much for info. We make our plans and dreams, but are always aware of the need for flexibility. We may need to bus to Finisterre and then Muxia is a possibility too and have noted Lires.

Thank you very much Davkel for all your observations. My husband and I are starting our Portuguese Camino in August and you have answered so many of our questions. We look forward to hearing more of your Camino
Oops ! I can see me making a few linguistic blunders. I am enjoying learning some Spanish through Duolingo and I have still have over 3 months to improve. I'll keep it simple, though I am finding learning Spanish grammar quite a challenge.
Buenas noches from Western Australia
Thank you for all the helpful advice on this thread re Portuguese Camino. I am currently planning our August/September Camino and although we walked on the Camino Frances last year, this one has been freaking me out a bit.
Last weekend, we were enjoying a beautiful early morning walk and my thoughts were on the Camino and how I miss the yellow arrows. The thought had just occurred and this is what I spied. A blue coffee mug with the yellow arrow. We started a conversation with the young man in his garden and sure...
Such a shame that the universal language of "Esperanto " was not further developed .
As English being my first language I have tried to learn a little of the language of each country travelled - quite daunting at times.
Hi! Laura,
We walked on the Camino Frances May / June 2014 and it was wonderful. Unfortunately we had to skip the meseta as I was suffering from tendonitis.
We would love to complete the part we missed but due to our rather advanced years its on to new pastures. - The Camino Portuguese August /...
