I noticed that the distance from St Jean Pied de Port to St-Saturnin at Toulouse is almost exactly 300 kms. St-Saturnin at Toulouse also claims to have the remains of St James! Maybe a new Camino Frances is in order to satisfy the 300 km demand for a Champes de Etoiles.
This is the notification the Pilgrims office gave me on February 10 which calls for 12000 euro fine for going over the Napoleon route. They could not be more clear or explicit that it is forbidden .

I went this year beginning at the end of February but had only two arguably bad days. I was way over packed .
