Ladies Rain Pants Suggestion - I misplaced the email I wanted to keep

I agree, I am an extra small (size 00 pants) and I can't find anything at the good will. My boyfriend found convertible pants and all sorts of things. I have gone to close to 20 different thrift stores and haven't found anything that I can use on this trip. I find some quick dry shirts (and that...

    Question about sleeping bag weights.

Smaller than a 5ltr bag. I can stuff it in a 5 liter bag no problem.

    Question about sleeping bag weights.

Hey Kev, I bought my sleeping bag from Enlightened Equipment. I got the revelation bag which can be opened up into a quilt. It is slightly modifiable. I got mine as 40 degree F = 4.44 C, short, which cost me $210 (it was only 15% off sale), and it is only 13.2 oz = 374 grams. I also spent extra...

    Peregrinas, make up, toiletries...

Well it is always best to test things out before you get on the Camino, so I will do just that. Thanks for the heads up!

    Peregrinas, make up, toiletries...

Did it never dry? Just curious on why it fell apart. I will be making my bag today, and using it for the next two months so I can see how it works in my shower.

    Peregrinas, make up, toiletries...

Thanks Falcon, that is basically the idea. I will be making it with a loofa I have ever used but insist on holding onto. So it will cost me $0. In addition, it will be less material, which will be less weight. I found those online and the youtubed how I could make my own ;).

    Peregrinas, make up, toiletries...

I am planning my first Camino for June and July. I plan on bringing a Dr. Liggett's Shampoo bar. I regularly use this bar in normal life. It doesn't have all the chemicals that some liquid shampoo's have. Furthermore, the shampoo bar can be used for body, face, and clothes. I felt that the soap...

Le Puy route/GR65 campgrounds: electrical outlets? Tea?

I am wondering what you figured out to do. I bought a platypus water bottle (.8oz) in addition to my water bladder. I plan on filling it with water and place a couple tea bags inside. Then just clip it to my backpack. I figure the sun will brew the tea as I walk. I have used this method for road...

Shipping poles and knife to St Jean Pied De Port

I did find some comparable poles for a cheaper price of my original (at Decathlon). They don't carry the 110cm which I originally measured myself for, but they do have the 115cm. I can also order it ahead and have it shipped to the store and pick it up on the way. That way I can guarantee to get...

Shipping poles and knife to St Jean Pied De Port

Thanks Bagaracer. The tickets I am buying are the lowest tickets so they actually charge to check a bag. You get only one carryon for free. The charge for the checked bag is $58, and they directly say it will be double at the terminal (you find all this out while going through the purchasing...

Shipping poles and knife to St Jean Pied De Port

Upon reading many posts, you need to check the poles for Ryan Air, and to leave Santiago as well. As the shipping of the poles to SJPdP is cheaper than checking it, I feel more inclined to just ship it.

Shipping poles and knife to St Jean Pied De Port

I am a starving college student so ever penny saved is important to me. I am also only 100lbs so every ounce of weight is also important to me. The poles I bought are only 12 oz in weight and cost me $65. I was searching for a while before I found that great of a deal. I feel that the poles on...

Shipping poles and knife to St Jean Pied De Port

I have been browsing through many posts on this website, but I don't seem to find anything on the ability of shipping things TO St Jean Pied De Port. I live in America, and I am flying Norwegian Air to Paris. My return flight will be somewhere in Spain (Madrid or Barcelona) depending on price of...

    Lightweight or Midweight Fleece

I have purchased the Nano puff and will be using at home over the winter to see how well it holds up with some arm warmers. I like that it is lighter than the lightweight fleece. But I will try both nano and fleece to figure out what will work for me :)

    Lightweight or Midweight Fleece

I hear the buff's are pretty popular and I am looking to buy one. Does everyone prefer the full sized buff, or in the summer time is the half size better? Not sure if the full is going to be too much during June.

    Lightweight or Midweight Fleece

What a great recommendation katdavis. I wear armwarmers at home. Because I often get cold, I carry a pair in my purse during summer time. I don't know why I didn't think to use those to layer up! I will definitely try those out with a lightweight fleece and see how it works for me during my...

    Lightweight or Midweight Fleece

Alright, so I found a Patagonia Nano puff online on Ebay. It was listed as $75 dollars, (retail $170). I put a bid on it thinking that I would be outbid eventually. I got off work today and found out my bid was the highest and I won it. Now that I won it, I am starting to think I could just get...

    Lightweight or Midweight Fleece

I start at the end of May, so I will most walk through June and the beginning of July.

    Lightweight or Midweight Fleece

Thanks for all the good advice. Arn, I already know about my warm spots. I freeze A LOT. It will be summer and I am sitting in an air-conditioned room, and my hands will be tucked between my legs near crotch or under my arms. That is a default position for me since my extremities are often cold...

    Lightweight or Midweight Fleece

Do you find that the puff jackets are strong enough for the wear and tear of the camino. I haven't ever owned anything like it, but I have heard that they were really fragile articles.
