I use an ebike on the Camino and take it on trains and I prefer to use the rustic trails and not the highway.
I don't see why this should be a problem for anyone. The Camino trail is a public route and open to anyone. Many Spanish cyclists use it, and since it's their country, who can tell...
I wild camp often, and my method of finding a good spot is this:
A couple of hours before you plan to set up, use Google maps satellite view to identify a few possible places. Trees, uncultivated land, close to the path or road for good access, far enough away for concealment. A kilometer or...
Imo sleeping on a park bench is character-building and should be an essential element in one's education. Btw I'm in O Pedrouso tonight and the place is falling down with empty beds.
Use a bike . . . and do the Meseta. Or go all the way to the Dark Side and use an ebike. It's not the same, but it'll do, and it beats hell out of staying home. Good luck
One of the things the Camino teaches is is not to give a tinker's curse about things that don't matter, and how few of those there really are. One of the joys it gives us is watching your fears gradually transform into joyous insouciance ... In other words, into not giving a flying rubber duck 😎
I carry a tarp and air mattress when I (rarely) walk, and I roll up at the municipals at 12 when I cycle (usually). No beds? Never a problem. Good luck ☘️

I hate to disagree with my virtual buddy Tincatinker, but for many pilgrims the danger is not the disappointment of finding that the Camino is just like home, but that it's so different in so many sweet and wonderful ways that on their return they can no longer fit in to the dog-eat-dog...
Well done to create such a useful resource. What I'd like to see is an app that helps pilgrims to find Catholic mass on the Camino. I wish I had the skill to create one myself. It'd make a big difference to bible-bashers like myself
I met a pilgrim a while back with bandages on his face ... he told hethat he slipped badly and got hurt and the two walkers front and rear rushed to help him. Turned out one was a Korean nurse and the other an Italian doctor. Try going to A n E at home and see what happens.
The danger is a...
One of the pleasures of the Camino is the intersection of so many often mutually bewildering cultures and anthropologies. Then of course the plethora of foreigners are all in the same position in relation to Spanish culture and its myriad regional variants ...
Returning glasses to be bar is...
Permit me to provide reassurance on the matter of headphones and cyclists. Like many things in life, it looks dangerous but it really isn't. It's like when you cross the street in traffic; you know that the drivers know what they're doing and will be aware of you and avoid you, so you don't...
Great post, that's exactly how I feel as well now that my walking days are mostly behind me. I used a pushbike for two years and then switched to an ebike, and it's fantastic. I did the Primitivo last year and it was wonderful . . . I could hever have managed it as a walker, and as for a...
I can see your point ... the headphones/no headphones discussion must indeed seem trivial, and the passions it raises absurd.
I can't agree with your last point, however, because I am very curious about individual opinions, particularly about matters that are none of my business. And I think...
