I took the 8.30 train to Vigo then the 10.15 express bus to Lisbon. Cheap, easy and fast.
I later discovered the bus actually starts in Santiago but I enjoyed the wee trip on the train!
Hi...There is a fantastic albergue just south of Campomanes in the village of Benduenos. It is run by a lovely woman called Sandra who lives in the village with her family. Search Benduenos and you should find an earlier post of mine.

I have just returned from the Camino Mozarabe from Malaga to Cordoba with temperatures around 37 in the afternoon. With plenty water and protection from the sun it was doable but tough. I had a 20km stage with no towns or villages that was actually a bit scary in that heat. Kept a cool head...
There is a new albergue just outside Herias, near Campomanes. It is wonderful and Sandra will prepare a great meal and supply cerveza or sidra.

I feel like the black sheep of the forum as I plan to cycle from SJPDP around 16/17 October. I too am recently retired having taken an early package from social work service in Fife. I will make sure to fit a bell! What are the casa rurales like?
