Has anyone rented a bike for a section(s) of the route?

Hi there, I'm thinking of walking and cycling the route to cut down time-length slightly. Has anyone here had experience doing something similar? Any info about where you got bikes, sections, costs and drop off would be great. Thanks!

    First timer? Shoes? August

Just yesterday I bought the Merrell Moab Ventilators, good reviews and they looked and felt the part in the shop. I took them out for a run/walk today, perfect for off-road - very strong, thick and sturdy underfoot on grass, mud and rocks. Only trouble was that running with them was like...

Advice for Pilgrims starting in Mid July?

Thank you all for your very detailed replies! Something for @Jo Jo , After reading your very detailed report, I noticed that you did not bring a sleeping bag with you, just a liner. And that was ok? What do others (on this thread) think about that - a sleeping bag isn't really necessary? Also...

Advice for Pilgrims starting in Mid July?

Thanks! I like your reply to question one ;) RE: Q5, what are you thoughts of carrying cash? Are there many cash points en route - do bars, Refugios take card? I keep reading that I can be difficult to find a bed towards the end of the Camino, how many days of the 32 (assumed duration) did...

Hi there! I'm so happy to have stumbled upon this forum, what a great community! The thought of doing the Camino de Francés has been rattling around my skull for some time. And now with 30 or so available, it's about time I make it happen. I plan to travel within the next 15 days from London...
