We are now on out 3rd Camino, traveling arriving in SJPdP tomorrow . Our walking sticks are as always in our packs and we have never checked them to and from Seattle. If you read the fine print on the TSA website it says they will not be accepted. They have also been carried through out Europe...

I am cheap when purchasing hiking clothes. I live in the Cascade mountains and have trails outside my door. I do most of my shopping at Bass Pro Shop. I buy Redhead brand zip offs $39.00 and have worn then on 3 Caminos plus walks in Other nations. I only have had 3 pair in the last 7 years.
I would expect the costs would rise. In 2015 a Pilgrim menu was about 10€. Even at these prices it is a lot less than restaurant in the US. Fast foods like McDonald's run about $10-12 for sandwich, chips and drink and are not nearly as tasty.
Our first Camino was from SJPDP and we definitely needed our hiking boots we walk in snow for the first ten days then rain ,sleet and mud for the majority of the rest of the way. otherwise we have worn our trail runners. about ten days of clear weather out of the 25 days. I would do it again!
